How I look after your details

Daily Pause is just me, so your details stay with me and the few services that help me run this site. Here is exactly what that means.

What I collect

I only collect what you choose to give me:

  • When you sign up for a free guide: your first name, your email address, and which guides you asked for.
  • When you send a message through the contact form: your name, your email address, and your message.
  • When you request a booking: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, what you would like to book, the times that suit you, and anything you choose to tell me.

Why I collect it

I use your details to send you the guides you asked for, occasional mindfulness notes and new meditations, and to reply to your messages. I never sell or rent your details, and I never share them with anyone for their own marketing.

The services I use

A few trusted services handle information on my behalf. Some of them store it outside Australia:

  • Amazon Simple Email Service (part of Amazon Web Services) sends the site’s emails, such as your guide and replies to your messages, from its Sydney region.
  • Purelymail hosts my email inbox, where your messages, booking requests and sign-ups arrive.
  • Vercel hosts the website. Like any web host, it keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.
  • YouTube shows the videos on the webinars page. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play, and the videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.

Cookies and your browser

This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It keeps two small notes in your own browser, which never leave your device: whether you have already seen the opening ink drop, so it only plays once, and how many stones you have left at the water’s edge. YouTube may store information in your browser once you play a video.

Unsubscribing and your choices

Every email from me has an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you. You can also email me at any time to see the details I hold about you, to correct them, or to have them deleted.

Questions or concerns

If you have a question about your privacy, or you are unhappy with how I have handled your details, please email me first and I will do my best to put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
